My baby jamely is going to kindergarten, I still can’t believe she is turning 5 years old next month. She was and still is my first love, the minute her eyes and mine met I knew that being a mother was what I was meant to be. Now she is not my little baby anymore, she is my big girl and I don’t like it! Why can’t she stay a baby forever? ( I know unrealistic, but I wish) Now I am sitting here in her soon to be new school and realizing she belongs with the big kids now. Wow already going to kindergarten it stills shocks me and I will definitely cry when I take her for her first day of kindergarten, I am saying it now because well is the truth I get so emotional just thinking about it, imagine the actual day!! oooohhhh boyyyy unlimited tissue paper please! Right now she is in her new school( she goes to a different school for pre-k) taking an assessment test to place her in the correct class. Javier (baby daddy) and I chose to put her in the Dual language option to learn English and Spanish. Since we are Hispanic speaking Spanish is very important in our household. I feel now a days in our society knowing more than one language is very important and is actually an advantage to know more than one language than to know only one. What better way to learn how to read, write and speak both Spanish and English than in school? Well I am sitting very nervous as I watch my beautiful Jamely take the assessment, I think am the one taking the test, Heck Jamely was more calm and sure of herself than I was of me! maybe the reason I was so nervous is because what jamely will answer reflects on us as parents of how much we taught her. You know? Oh the waiting game is hard, there’s a lot of parents with their 4year old kids waiting to take the assessment or watching their kid while they are already taking the assessment like I am with Jamely. Since I don’t like waiting I am just going to take blurry pictures in the meantime.
After she took the assessment the man came up to me and told me that my daughter is very prepared to go to kindergarten and all because of me! I will definitely include her daddy and my sisters who also played a big part in everything that she knows! I am such a proud mommy, this just put a big smile in my face! I will be getting the decision of her placement by mail…fingers crossed she got into Dual Language!
*** Good luck to all the parents and Congrats to our little babies for graduating and going to kindergarten!***
P.S.- I used to attend the same school Jamely is going to be attending for kindergarten, crazzzzyyyyy!!!
