Don't stress over Spring cleaning and follow these clever tips! Super helpful tips and guide for a stress free spring cleaning. Tackle every room of the house the clever way! Pin now!

Can you believe Spring is already here? Do you know what’s the first thing that comes to mind when I think about spring? Spring cleaning! That’s right, spring cleaning is definitely a phenomenon and you can easily be sucked into the craze.

That’s why I like to keep things simple, stick to a cleaning routine that is effective and get’s the cleaning job done. Without a game plan on how you will tackle everything that entails spring cleaning, you can easily become overwhelmed.

Your game plan should be easy, simple and effective. Do what works for you and find smart little ways that will easily help you tackle even the hardest rooms in your house.

These 10 clever ways to spring clean without loosing your mind has helped me a ton. I don’t stress over spring cleaning because I have a good and effective plan. I want to help you tackle spring cleaning, stress free!

10 clever ways to spring clean without loosing your mind

Don’t obsess over it

One of the things that I love doing is to not obsess about having my entire house clean in one day. It takes time, patience and motivation to actually go through with spring cleaning. Don’t feel bad if your neighbor or friend has started before you or has finished faster than you because everyone works at their own pace.

Spring cleaning is like a “holiday” because the minute that spring is here, it’s what everyone is talking about. It can get stressful and overwhelming but you don’t need to let it be. Take your time and don’t obsess over it.

Divide chores by day

One great way to tackle spring cleaning in a non stressful way is to divide the chore/rooms by day. Maybe one day you can clean the entire kitchen and the next day you tackle your bedroom and so on and so forth.

This will guarantee that you are only focusing on one room of the house and you are really giving it that deep clean that it needs. If you have multiple rooms to clean in one day, your cleaning will not be as effective, you will get tired and restless very easily. One room, one chore per day and you’re on your way to a stress free spring cleaning journey.

Take small breaks

Taking small breaks in between your cleaning is imperative. Taking a break will give you the time to recharge and help you keep that positive and motivational attitude. Drink water and eat some snacks, then finish tackling your house!

Have music playing

If I’m cleaning, I need to have music playing in the background. It gives me a boost of motivation to keep cleaning and to get lost in my favorite songs.  Having music on will help you get more things done, I honestly will guarantee you this. It will also keep your mood upbeat and you will want to keep cleaning, instead of getting tired and just wanting to throw in the towel.

Play your favorite upbeat songs and have fun!

Have helpers

Whenever possible, have your kids and hubby help you with your spring cleaning. This is essential to cleaning faster, effectively and stress free. The more helping hands that you have, the easier cleaning will feel. Give your kids a chore list and explain what rooms you will want them to clean. Have the cleaning products out for them and watch them help!

Cleaning as a family is another fantastic way to bond, even though your hubby and kids may not want to at first. They will eventually give in and join you. You can even play a game like ” Who will clean faster” to motivate your kids to clean .

Donate or throw away items that you don’t need or use

Spring cleaning is all about deep cleaning your home and getting rid of the things that you don’t use or need anymore. If you haven’t used something in the past 6 months, then I will suggest you to donate it to someone that will get use out of that item. You’ll be surprised at how many things you will find that have been collecting dust and taking up space in your house for no reason at all.

Here’s a quick tip:

Have three baskets and name each one with either ” keep” “donate” and “garbage”, then as you are cleaning your closet, basement, attic or wherever else you have items in, you will decide in which basket you are going to place each item in. If you do not have baskets, just simply make piles on the floor of the things that you will keep, donate or throw away!

Give yourself a time-frame

I think this one is a fun activity to do because it will challenge you and make you push even harder to get the cleaning done. Let’s say that you have to clean the kitchen, simply set a timer. Whether that will be an hour, two hours or three hours, the point is to get as much things done as possible within that time frame. Try it and let me know if this method worked for you!

Tackle the “easiest” rooms first

I personally like to tackle what I believe are the easiest rooms in my house. If I go in for the harder rooms in my house, I will quickly get stressed and unmotivated to even start cleaning. I like to start with the bathroom and then work myself to the bedrooms, living room and kitchen.

Since I tackle the easiest rooms of my house first, I find myself finishing faster and I still have the energy to continue with the rest of the house. of course, take it one day at a time and work at your own pace.

Reward yourself

Why not reward yourself when you have completed cleaning a room? You definitely deserve it and you shouldn’t feel bad about it. Deep cleaning can be stressful and overwhelming, so make it fun. Every time you walk in a room that you have to clean, just tell yourself that after you are finished with the cleaning you will reward yourself with something. It can be watching your favorite Netflix show, ordering pizza, having a nice quiet bubble bath or just enjoying a delicious iced frappuccino. Whatever it is, you will be motivated to finish cleaning that room, so you can be that much closer to enjoying your treat.

Don’t try to do it all at once

Again, please don’t think that spring cleaning is an one day event because it’s not. Spring cleaning is all about getting into the mood of getting rid of the old and welcoming the new. Clean when you feel like it and when you know that you have the energy for it. Ask for help and don’t do everything yourself.

Take a deep breath and just have fun with it because there’s no better feeling than a clean house that smells like Spring!

Quick recap

Spring cleaning doesn’t have to be a stressful or an overwhelming event. Taking small but clever steps into developing an effective plan will help you tackle all your rooms with ease.

Remember to always have music on because it will motivate you to clean. Also do not clean by yourself, have your kids and hubby help you out by assigning them a room or a chore do to. You don’t have to do it all and you don’t have to spring clean your home in one day, take small breaks and reward yourself. You deserve it!

Did you start Spring cleaning yet? What’s the most important tip you have for spring cleaning?

 Hugs, Ros Emely

I know it’s time for Spring cleaning when the sun is up before I am. It streams through the windows in the back of my house and I can finally see how dirty they are. It’s embarrassing.

I love these tips because I definitely get overwhelmed easily. Music is my favorite way to make things fun. I’m not ashamed to admit that I blast Disney songs and sing along while I clean.

I’m trying something new this year: I’m making a list of everything I need to do, then going room by room (like you suggested) and just getting things done. I also like your idea of spreading the cleaning out over a few days so I don’t get so easily burned out.

    Thanks for the article 🙂
