I went to a hotel with my family last week and it was pretty fun. Fun in the sense that I got out my house and routine life for one day, not fun that we actually had to take the kids. Fine, I would have missed them if they did not go with us and besides no one could have stayed with them so my hubby and I didn’t have a choice.
I was complaining of how tired I am and how I am always behind four walls that I guess my hubby got the point. We actually love going to hotels to sleep and spend some quality family time, I know it might sound weird but that’s what we like doing. I am not rich or anything believe me! we usually go when the hotel prices are low, low like less than $100 per night. My father also works in the hotel chain so we get discounts as well, it is not a bad deal at all.
We get to the hotel around 8pm and we couldn’t check in until I print out a form with the discount code in it, that is something that my father has to give me in order for the receptionist to know I am related to an employee that works there. Well my father forgot his password to sign in to where he usually prints out the form and he was calling the operator to get his password reset. Mind you my father was in his house and we were already at the hotel waiting for the form to be sent via email. I asked the receptionist which was a friendly women how much would it be if we do not have the form, guess what she said? she told me that it would be about $220 per night! I was like Say what! but of course I did not say it( I didn’t want to sound like I was a cheap biatch, which I am but she didn’t have to know) but my face expression pretty much said it all.
So we just sat down in the main lobby of the hotel waiting
patiently for my dad to send me the form. We gave the twins something to eat so they wont be crying and annoying everybody there. I don’t know why us moms have to always care about what people are thinking or whether they are annoyed by our children, those people should just realize that is normal for babies to cry and for kids to be loud and obnoxious is their nature duh!
here are some blurry pics of us waiting in the lobby….
After nearly an hour in a half we finally get the discount form and got checked in into our rooms! By this time it was around 10pm, we were exhausted and hungry. The kids just loved the room, the minute we went inside they took off running and touching everything they put their hands on. I had to be running back and forth making sure they don’t break anything, that was the last thing we needed something to break. Jamely was jumping from one bed to another and having a blast. I was telling the kids to be quiet and to stop touching things like every 5 minutes, I am not even joking.
If they break anything we would have to pay and my dad can even get fired, so I had my game on making sure everything was in place or at least looked like it was. The twins each had their own play pen to sleep on and Jamely had her own nice comfy bed to sleep . We only slept there one night and it was great. I actually got some sleep because the twins only woke up once at 6am and went back to sleep until 10am. I fed them at 6am and I heated their bottles in the sink with hot water. Can you imagine being sleepy and had to heat the milk in the sink of a bathroom because their was no microwave. They did have a microwave in the lobby but you know I was not about to go to the lobby looking all sleepy and cray cray, I ain’t about that life!
Overall we had a great night my hubby and I loved it and so did our kids. We always try to go to hotels to spend a night or two depending on the deal, and it is always worth it to us. my daughter told me while we were heading out of the hotel “mami I want to stay for two days not one”, I looked at her (thinking to myself we are not rich) and said maybe next time. After we left we went to our favorite breakfast spot which is IHOP, Jamely loves it that she even jumps up and down every time we go of how excited she is. The twins do not know yet how good this restaurant is but I am pretty sure they will be jumping up and down just like Jamely. We all ate and I gave the twins some bananas, grits, yogurt and hash browns(the soft part) they seem to like it. Javier (my hubby) eats like a hungry monster, so you know he ate everything and me and Jamely ate our food as well, what can I say I guess we are all hungry monsters.
