Hi mommies and friends,
Last week was sort of crazy one, it had highs and lows. The week started with Emma catching a virus, she had a very high fever so I took her to the emergency room at the hospital. the doctor explained that she has the Hand-Foot-and mouth disease. I was just in shock because I didn’t know what the shits was that, you know.
The doctor did explain the symptoms and also gave me prescription for Emma to lower her fever. So I was a little relief about it, but her fever was still a little high, she went in the hospital with a 104 fever( I started crying when they told me her temperature, I am an emotional momma) and then after a dose of medicine her fever went down to 102 still high hello! So they proceeded in giving her more medicine to bring it down some more. We left the hospital with Emma feeling much better than when she went in, which is good news. Long story short Emma started getting a rash, blisters on her body, and a sore throat. The same symptoms that the doctor at the hospital said she will have.
Eventually as always when you have more than one child, my other two children got the same virus. I couldn’t attend college that week which was last week ( not that I am complaining 🙂 ). As you can expect they started feeling and looking much better after a couple of days thank God, because it is so hard to see your children sick and in some sort of discomfort.
Hand-Foot-Mouth Disease(virus) Symptoms:
- High fever ( it can last for up to 3 days).
- Sore throat ( my twins couldn’t eat solids, they would cry every time I try feeding them).
- Small red blisters(mostly on the foot, hands, face, around the mouth).
If you want more information about this virus that mostly effects infants and children 5 years and younger visit this website http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/
We still managed to go out and take some much-needed fresh air during the week.
Also last week my beautiful daughter Jamely started kindergarten, and we are just so proud and happy. My baby is growing up and I seriously do not like it, just kidding but wow how time flies. She is entering a new school, new teachers and new environment everything is so exciting for her right now and we are thrilled for her. We love you Jamely and we know you will do great in kindergarten! My baby is not a baby anymore tear!
Just a quick recap on what happened last week, to keep you updated a little bit.
