Hey guys,
I can not believe I am going back to college at age 26. You know what, I can’t believe I haven’t finished college at my age. I started college after high school in 2006 and I still haven’t managed to finish. Well in between I gave birth to my first daughter Jamely and then a few years after gave birth to my twins which was last year.
I also didn’t attend college when I was pregnant with the twins I was just too lazy, tired, and really not in the mood to study and listen to professors speak for more than an hour. I wasn’t having that, I just wanted to eat and sleep all day long.
So after the twins turned one years old I decided it was time to give school yet another try. I just can’t give up on this, I know before I was not putting my 100% in studying and actually paying attention in class. This was before I got pregnant with Jamely and after so I really did not have any excuse as to why I didn’t do well in school.
So now I am back on my grind and trying to get my Bachelors degree in Accounting while juggling with my three kids and my 4th child which is my hubby, Ha!. He says I am his 4th child but ladies we all know that our hubbies or boyfriend behave more like babies than our own children.
Anyways I am pretty exciting about school because I do want a better future for myself and my family. Even if I might not be working as an accountant because you really never know, at least I will have my degree at hand for when ever I need it. Also just having my bachelors degree will make me feel so proud of myself that I actually graduated and still had the time to take care of my children and “house wife” things.
You know I was skeptical about going back to college because :
- I am 26 years old.
- I am a mother of three.
- I feel like I am too old.
- My college days are pretty damn over.
- who is going to take care of my children.
All of my concerns pretty much vanished because I realize that I have the best family in the world, great supportive friends and I have me to make proud of. I also realize I am not alone in going back to school at a later age in life. According to the National Center for Education Statistics there is an increase of 23% of students over the age of 25 years old enrolling in college. How great is that, I love it.
So…
I started college last Friday and it wasn’t that bad after all. The professors were great so far hopefully that does not change as the semester progresses. I only go to school 3 days a week and I am taking 3 classes for this semester. I really have to study my butt off from now on and pray that I pass all of my classes and soon graduate with a degree.
If you are a mother and looking to go back to school…
You can read this article I found online where it gives you an over view of what you should take into consideration before going back to school,

Who is taking care of the children…
Since I have a great support system in my immediate family, I have the help of my little sister who is going o take care of the twins one of the days I go to school.
My hubby will take care of them the other day and my father will ask permission at his job to see if they give him the other day off so I will be able to attend college. Is my family amazing or what?
I have a little back to school outfit of the day, this is what I wore the first day of college.
