helpful tips and products to use to help prevent and soothe your baby's eczema

Looking for ways to soothe baby eczema? My son suffered from severe eczema when he was a baby and it just broke my heart. He would cry, fuss and just be uncomfortable because his skin was so itchy and dry. It got so bad at one point that he would bleed from it because his skin would get very dry even after I had bathe him in lotion. Thankfully my hubby and I took him to a pediatric dermatologist where they prescribed him a cream to help with the eczema. Which worked tremendously.

Eczema is a chronic itchy skin condition and is very common for a baby to develop during the first few months. In most cases it usually doesn’t last long and many infants outgrow it. So breathe mama!

My son still develops eczema from time to time, but not as severe as when he was a baby, he is now 3 years old ( Gosh, why they grow so fast?). His twin sister didn’t develop eczema, so that was good. Even though my son’s dermatologist gave him excellent medication for it, I still wanted to buy other products that helped soothe it as well. The medications were not meant to be used everyday for the rest of his life, it was temporarily until it went away.

Which it did but as in many cases would come back again. My son’s worst cases of eczema happened during the summer and during the winter. The summer heat was terrible for his delicate skin, as you can imagine. So I was a mom on a mission and was very prepared to take on his eczema and stop it for good. So I hope these products can also help soothe your baby’s eczema!

Where can baby get eczema?

” Babies can get the condition just about anywhere on their body. Most often, it affects their cheeks and the joints of their arms and legs.” (source)

These 4 products to help soothe your baby’s eczema worked wonders on my son’s skin and it helped tremendously in soothing it too. It provided protection for my son’s skin and his eczema cleared and was manageable. I love the Aveeno eczema products because it is amazing.

The Eczema therapy bath from Aveeno is truly a gift, you just pour it in the bathtub and soak your baby in it for a minimum of 15 to 20 minutes. The color of it might throw you off but I promise your baby’s skin will get so soft and will relief the itchiness.

The Babyganic’s eczema care protectant cream it’s non-allergenic and pediatrician and dermatologist tested. It also relieves itchy, dry and irritated skin. I also, love using baby oil after every bath and just massaging my son with it. I like to combine some of these products together so my son can really benefit from it and for his eczema to go away.

Side note: I also used these products on his twin sister, because why not right? I didn’t bathe her in the Aveeno Eczema therapy bath because she didn’t have eczema and didn’t need it.

Daily Routine to help soothe baby Eczema

how to soothe eczema inn babies

1.When your baby wakes up in the morning, massage him/her with a dose of Aveeno Eczema therapy moisturizer cream or the Babyganics Eczema protectant cream ( or use both!)

2.During bath time, make sure to use the Aveeno Eczema therapy bath treatment and watch your baby immediately feel it work!

3.After bath time, massage your baby with the Aveeno Eczema  moisturizer cream  and baby oil all over your child’s body.

Before bedtime, use the Organics Eczema care protectant cream and watch your baby sleep through the night without any fuss.

This was my daily routine for when my son’s eczema was at it’s worst and also when it was at it’s best. It’s very simple to follow and you will see results. Of course, always use and include your baby’s eczema medication prescribed by his/her dermatologist into the routine and use it according to the instructions provided.

This is a great post! Our kids (especially our son) suffered from pretty bad eczema until we moved to Texas. Within two weeks it cleared right up and now we never put lotion on them!
