arepitas de yucaI’m so happy to share with you this super easy Dominican dish of arepitas de yuca. I still remember when I was younger and still living with my parents, that my mom would always make this. At first I didn’t like it  because I thought the anise seeds that it has was too powerful but then with time, I came to love it! These arepitas de yuca is the perfect party appetizer and side dish because it literally only takes minutes to make and prepare. Dominicans usually make arepitas de yuca as a side dish to enjoy with their rice, beans, salad and stewed chicken. It’s delicious!

The star of this quick Dominican appetizer is not the yuca (cassava) as you might have thought, but instead is the anise seeds that it has in it. The seeds are rich and powerful  in flavor and a must if you really want that authentic  Dominican arepitas de yuca flavor. Now, if you simply do not like the anise seeds then do not add it, it will still taste delicious! You can purchase the anise seeds in any supermarket and if you cannot find it, simply ask the clerks to help you. You won’t be disappointed.

Now, let’s start with this super duper easy Dominican arepitas de yuca or simply yuca fritters, so you can be that close to trying it out for yourself. I know you will love it just as much as my family does 🙂

Usted no será decepcionado.
