Rice and fried noodles is a Dominican popular dish. Full of flavor and delicious noodles floating around. Goes perfect with anything and it's super quick rice dish to make. Try it to today!

I am obsessed with this Dominican rice and fried noodles dish, It’s amazing and definitely a winner with my family. You know something? I actually thought that this recipe was going to be a task to make or that it was even impossible. It just looks that way, don’t judge! Anyways, so one time at was in my aunts house and I noticed that she was making this dish. I wanted to know all of the details and instructions because I wanted to try it out for myself. Well it turns it it’s pretty straight forward and you make it the same way as if you were making white rice but with fried noodles in it. I’m telling you this recipe is the bomb dot com and you will not be disappointed.

I decided to give it a try and made this dish last week before heading out to a hotel stay with my family. We ate it with Caribbean stewed chicken and I wanted more, not even kidding! It’s simple, delicious and it can be one of those school night meals that doesn’t take long at all to make. All you are going to need is angel hair pasta, white long grain rice, water and Maggie cubes for seasoning (you can use salt and pepper). That’s all she wrote and BANG! you have a yummy main dish in your hands.

Let’s get started with this Dominican rice and fried noodles recipe shall we?

INGREDIENTS:

  • about 1/2 cup of angel hair pasta (chopped into pieces)
  • 2 Maggie cubes for seasoning (you can just add salt and pepper to taste)
  • 1 1/2 cups of long grain white rice
  • 2 1/2 cups of water
  • 2 tablespoons of cooking oil (vegetable, corn)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In a rice pan add the oil and once is hot add the noodles (cook at medium heat).
  2. Mix the noodles in the oil for a couple of seconds or until you see that the noodles will turn a nice brown color (this happens fast, so keep an eye on it)
  3. Now, you want to add the water and the Maggie cubes (or salt and pepper). Mix well and wait until it starts to boil.
  4. Once the water starts boiling, add the rice and mix well. Still cooking at medium heat. Let it cook until the rice has absorb the majority of the water (about 10 minutes or so).
  5. Now, mix again and lower heat to low, put a lid on top and cook the rice for 30 minutes.

That’s it my friend, I hope you enjoyed this super easy and very delicious Dominican rice and fried noodles recipe. Like I said before it goes well with anything, whether you want to eat it with vegetables, chicken, beef, pork or even tofu! Your choice.

P.S: I have a wedding to go to today, ahhh so excited! It’s one of my very good friends wedding and my hubby and I can’t wait to show her support on this very special day. By the way, my kids are staying over my parents house, yuppie! haha!

 Hugs, Ros Emely
