1.The bag

Okay, first things first, dads need their very own hospital bag. That’s why I thought it would be useful to recommend a travel tote luggage or a gym bag that are comfortably bigger and have enough space to put everything dad needs inside.

Here are two hospital bags perfect for dad:

I like this Under Armour duffel gym bag. It has a highly water-resistant finish. It also has a tough, abrasion-resistant bottom & side panels. Large front zippered organization pocket. Adjustable, padded, HeatGear shoulder strap for total comfort. Buy it here!

This Men’s Weekender Duffle Bag is also a great choice because it has a four Wear-resisting diamond-shaped rubber mat at the bottom which protects the bag from any damage. Great Choice for large overnight bag, weekend travel bag. Buy it here!

2. Phone, chargers and camera

This is really important to pack in dads hospital bag. So, make sure to have your phone, chargers and cameras ready to be used. Because, you’ll want to notify family members and friends when your baby is finally here! Also, you cannot forget to take lots of pictures!

Buy this amazing Smart Charging Station Dock and charge your smartphone, tablets and more!

3. Cash and credit cards

Make sure to take cash and loose change to the hospital with you. The reason why is there may be vending machines that you might want to get some snacks from in the middle of the night or whenever actually. In many hospitals you have to pay in order to use their televisions, so having your credit card comes in handy 🙂

5. Change of clothes

Dads are going to need change of clothes if they are planning to stay overnight with mom. Which I think it’s an awesome idea 🙂 So make sure to pack a couple of basic clothing that dad is going to feel comfortable in. No need for suits here, Mr. Fancy pants!

Here are quick clothing options for dads to pack in their labor bags:

  1. sweat pants
  2. regular basic t-shirts (white, black)
  3. socks
  4. Jeans
  5. underwear

6. Toiletries for men

Yes sir! If you’re planning on staying overnight with your baby mama, then you’re going to need the basic toiletries for men. Because you need to feel and look presentable. All are necessary in my opinion.

Here’s a quick list of toiletries essentials to pack:

  1. Razor
  2. toothbrush
  3. toothpaste
  4. deodorant
  5. cologne
  6. hairbrush/comb

Or you can simply purchase one of these super convenient toiletry kits

7.Pillows and Blankets

Hospitals may provide dad with blankets and pillows, but they may not. So, it’s better to be safe than sorry and pack your own pillow and blanket. It does not have to be a huge bulky blanket at all. Just make sure it’s comfortable for you to sleep in for a couple of days.

Be prepared by having your state issued ID and insurance on hand. Mom can remind dad to make sure he has it inside his wallet at all times. As these two things are very important things to take to the hospital.

There you have it mom and dad the ultimate hospital bag checklist for dads. I really hope you found it useful and helpful in knowing what to pack in dads hospital bag. These are all items that are going to help dads survive a hospital stay.

Both mom and dad need to feel and be comfortable and excited about the birth of their baby. So having snacks, electronics, a change of clothes are all essentials to ensure the best while in the hospital. That is to say that staying organized and prepared before baby’s arrivals is always a smart idea.

Welcoming your new bundle of joy is such an amazing and exciting period. But above all it’s a blessing in a mother’s and father’s life. Therefor it should be a smooth process and knowing what to pack in your hospital bag will only add ease of mind to the experience.

 Hugs, Ros Emely
