1.Have a routine
I always strive on a routine, even if it’s spring break, or summer vacation. This quarantine life is no exception. So create a flexible routine where you feel like you’re in control. Know the times where your kids will eat lunch and dinner. That way, you can prepare in time. Also, have a nighttime routine where your kids go to bed at the same time every night. So you can have some time for yourself and spouse.

2. Play games
You and your kids can play family board games together. Or if you’re busy with housework, your own job or anything else. Have them play by themselves (depending on their age). My kids love playing board games together and so I let them have fun and entertain themselves for quite sometime.
Here are a few of our favorites:
3. Print coloring pages
My kids love to color and printing coloring pages from the web is their favorite. Mainly because they get to choose their favorite characters. You can either search online and print. Or you can check out this website where they have a lot of different educational coloring pages your child will love. Just make sure you click on “free” before searching for anything.
4. Have them read books
Need quiet time? I know I always do! Specially now during quarantine where kids think they can run loose like crazy little animals. Let’s have them relax during quiet time. Have them read their favorite books for 30 minutes. This will give you time to relax from the noise and it will help them further develop their reading skills.
5. Watch movies together
What to do with kids during quarantine and isolation time? Well, have movie nights! Or whenever in the day. Not only it’s fun but you will also be bonding with your kids. Honestly simplicity during these tough times is sometimes key to staying positive and grateful. Pick your movie, make popcorn, order pizza and enjoy some much needed family time.

6. Go outside
Sometimes all we need is some fresh air. Go outside with your kids and take a walk. If you have your own backyard, use it. Let them go crazy, soak up in the pool and have fun. I live in an apartment community and so I let the kids go outside and play. Where I can see them of course! Kids can’t be home all day because they will always say “I’m bored” and patience is running out.
7.Have a snack cabinet
Boy do active kids get hungry. All kids are active, they just don’t stop running back and forth, arguing with their siblings (these gray hairs are not growing for no reason) jumping on the couch after I tell them 100 times not to do it. Yup! they are bound to be hungry every 10 minutes. Have a fun snack basket with your kids favorite go to snacks. I also have a lot of fruits for my kids in a basket where they can just grab it and eat it.
8.Take advantage of educational websites
Abcmouse.com is giving parents free access to their amazing website! Use the code:school7771. I have used abcmouse with all three of my kids and they loved going on it and learning new things. This is a great way for your kids to learn and have fun at the same time. It’s an interactive educational website for kids. Check it out!
9. Do nothing
Yes girl, you read that right! Sometimes you just can’t do it all. Sometimes it’s okay to say “you know what, I’m not doing sh*t today”, ha! So do nothing! Honestly just take it a day at a time, just be on survival mode and that’s totally fine. As long as your kids don’t kill each other or get hurt. Have a free day for everyone.

10. Be thankful during this time
Being thankful during this crazy time may sound a little odd. But look at the bright side, it’s letting you spend more time with your kids. Be thankful that that you are healthy, that you have food to feed your family with and that you have a home where you can quarantine for some time in. During the hard days, it’s always good to look at the positive, to stay hopeful, to have faith because this too shall pass.
One more fun thing to do..
Have you tried TikTok? Me either, ha! but a few of my family members have done it with their kids and it looks like so much fun! So if you’re looking for something different but fun to do with your kids during this coronavirus quarantine time, try TikTok. Let me know how that goes.
BONUS TIP:
Teach your children something new. Take advantage of this time and teach your kids something that they are going to use during their life. some example are:
- How to cook (have them help you in the kitchen)
- Draw
- Take the garbage out
- wash the dishes
- Learn math
- Teach them how to wash hands
- Explain to them about what’s going on in the world today
- Teach them about love and compassion
I hope these tips have helped you in anyway possible. Remember to stay inside, stay safe and enjoy your time with your kids. This too shall pass.
