1.Not taking care of your body
One of the mistakes new moms make is not eating at all or not eating a healthy balance of fruits and vegetables, healthy fats and more. Taking care of your body is super important in the healing process after child birth.
Eating food rich in fiber and protein is recommended. Drinking a lot of water and staying hydrated helps with the recovery as well. Exercising and maintaining a good weight, not only makes you feel good, but it will also help you release any new mom stress that you may have.

4. Doubting your mom ability
As a new mom, you feel scared and anxious about taking care of your new baby. More, if you have never even held one before. It’s okay mama, you are not alone. One thing is true, you are doing a great job so far. Yes, it may feel like you don’t know what you’re doing. But, give yourself more credit and grace. Your baby is fed, you changed your baby’s diaper, your baby is happy and thriving.
That alone makes you a great mom. So what, if your baby still haven’t got the hang of sleeping through the night. It will take some time, but you will get there. So what, if you stopped breastfeeding. You are still feeding your baby formula. I want you to know that you are doing a heck of a good job as a new mom. Don’t ever doubt yourself.

5. No time for self care
Do you think you’re too busy for self care? or feel guilty about even having time for yourself without your baby? This mama is not a healthy way to live. As much as I know that you love your baby, you also need to love yourself. You need to understand that your mental, physical and emotional health matters too.
Self care does not have to be something unattainable. Because it’s very much attainable, within reach actually. Self care can be done right from the comfort of your home. Just make sure you do find time for it.
6. Not asking for help
It is not a crime or make you less of a mother if you ask for help mama. Actually it is very much encouraged because in reality, you need all of the help that you can get. Specially in the first couple of months after birth. This is something new, you are probably full of questions, scared to take your baby a bath because the umbilical cord has not fallen yet. I mean, I was too!
Ask for help and also accept help. You are doing yourself a favor and you will not regret it. Let others cook for you or clean your home. Let them feed baby (if bottle feeding) while you take a bath. Having extra helping hands is a good thing and it helps you transition to this new life as a mother more easily.
