
Feeling lonely as a new mother is very common. You are not alone mama. The reality of things is that you’re home all day taking care of your newborn. Your friends and family will not always be there to help you or visit you. Life continues for them, life may feel like it stopped for you.
Taking care of a newborn is very demanding, it’s very tiring and it’s not easy. Of course newborn babies makes it all worth it because they are the cutest angels. But that doesn’t eliminate the fact that you want someone to talk to. Not just anyone someone who knows exactly how you feel, your concerns and worries about being a mom.

1.Reach out to family and friends
Even though your close family and friends will not always be around. You can certainly give them a call or video chat with them. It’s amazing how good it feels to talk to them after a long hard mom day. Ask them to come over and visit you, plan a day out with them and enjoy the company.
Talking to other adults is a must as a new mother because it’s going to help you feel more like yourself again. Remember to always surround yourself with positive people who are going to motivate you and help you.

2. Join Facebook mom groups
Many new moms join mom groups on facebook to feel connected to other moms who are going through the same things as they are. Joining mom groups is a great way for you to ask questions, share your worries and joys. It helps you connect with other moms and helps you feel less lonely.
I have joined a few mom groups myself just to see what’s the conversations are like. And I do truly believe is a good source for moms to check out.

3. Plan a playdate
If you can plan a playdate with another fellow new mom. It can be your friend, your neighbor, your cousin. I mean whoever you want it to be. The point is to get out of the house and get together with another mommy. Talk about your life, struggles as a new mom, share your joys and advice. You need to get out of the house when you can and have a fun afternoon planned with a friend.
4. Go on a date night
A lot of moms forget about having date nights with their sweetheart spouse. Why is that? Your relationship is more important now than ever because of everything new that is happening in your life right now. Life with a newborn may put some strain on your relationship. It’s the truth mama.
Making sure you’re giving attention to your relationship will help you flourish it. Go out with your spouse alone or with your newborn, have a date night at home. Do not forget that your spouse is and should be your number one support system.
5. You are not alone
Knowing that you are not alone in this can help you feel better. It’s weird but it’s true. Other moms feel the same way and I want you to know it gets better. It does! You just have to find your mom tribe, friends who will be there to listen to you, to talk about motherhood, to share advice with and laugh!
Do not have friends? Your spouse is your friend! There’s no need to be feeling lonely as a new mother. Because it’s hard to be a mom and you cannot do it alone.
