1.Nose bleeds
Having nose bleeds during your pregnancy is actually very common. This is because you now have an increase blood volume that can easily put pressure on the blood vessels of your nose. There for causing you to have frequent nosebleeds. Oh the wonders of being pregnant!

2.Bleeding gums
Your gums may bleed during your pregnancy and it can be disgusting, specially if you’re in your first trimester and everything makes you want to gag. This is due to hormonal changes in your pregnancy which can cause your gums to swell and be tender. Be careful when brushing your teeth and know that this shall pass after your first trimester.

3. Leaking breasts
Did you know that not only your breasts get tender and can hurt while being pregnant, but your breast can also leak! I personally did not experience this symptom, but some of my family members did. I was totally shocked and kinda grossed out about it because I thought breasts leakage only happened after giving birth, but of course this is normal and some women may indeed experience their breasts leaking.

6. Varicose veins
Surprisingly many pregnancy women experience varicose veins during their pregnancy. These varicose veins can be itchy, painful and uncomfortable.
7. Restless leg syndrome
Boy did I suffered from restless leg syndrome, it was horrible! I would be sleeping like a baby in the middle of the night and all of a sudden I had leg cramps! I jumped on top of my hubby and started walking on the floor to relief my pain. Restless leg syndrome is no joke mama!

8. Vivid dreams
Another weird and unexpected pregnancy symptom that will shock you is that many pregnant women have vivid dreams.These dreams may become more often and more intense! Let’s blame the crazy pregnancy hormones for this one.
9. Sinus problems
You may think you have a cold because all of the signs are there, like having a stuffy and runny nose. But, guess what? Sinus problems is indeed a pregnancy symptom and it can be very annoying. Speaking from experience!

10. Hypersalivation
Hypersalivation also known as “Ptyalism” is when pregnant women have excess saliva. It can make morning sickness worse and it happens on it’s own. This symptom usually happens during the first trimester of pregnancy. Talk about weird!

11. Dry and sour mouth
Many women experience dry mouth during their pregnancy. According to Thebump.com the reason behind this is that “the body stores more water to help supply an increasing blood volume”. It can cause dehydration and thirst as well.
Another weird and unexpected pregnancy symptom is experiencing a sour mouth. You may experience a change in your sense of taste which can cause you to have a metallic taste in your mouth.
12. Larger feet, nose and hands
With my first pregnancy both of my hands and feet grew a size. I was not expecting this at all but it happened. Many women also experience their nose getting bigger, which I experienced too. This is due to an increase level of estrogen.
13. PICA disorder
I have heard about this disorder before and found it very interesting and of course weird. There are pregnant women who crave the smell or taste of non edibles items like gasoline, chalk and more weird things.
According to Americanpregnancy.org “some speculate that pica cravings are the body’s attempt to obtain vitamins or minerals that are missing through normal food”. Very interesting isn’t?
14. Hormones taking over
Your hormones may take over your entire pregnancy. You will find yourself crying for no apparent reason, getting irritated at your partner for any little thing and just being moody altogether. This is pregnancy for you and of course the fact that your body is going through so many changes. Feeling stressed, tired and overwhelmed are also reasons for your mood swings.
15. Easily out of breath
You may notice that talking can easily make you feel out of breath. Along with your growing baby comes your growing uterus, which may cause it to push upward on your lungs therefor making you will feel out of breath, from walking, talking, doing chores and even eating! I totally suffered from shortness of breath during my pregnancy, specially in my third trimester.
16. Increase sex drive

17. Melasma
Many women experience melasma during their pregnancy, including myself. This was unexpected for me because I didn’t know what it was until I had it. Melasma is basically dark patches on your skin. You can get it on your neck (like me), under arms and even belly!

Pregnancy can also have it’s perks like having thicker shinier hair and nails. How awesome is that? This is due to higher levels of estrogen which prolongs the growth of your hair. That’s what I’m talking about!
