1.Morning sickness symptoms disappear or reduces
When my second trimester came around I was feeling amazing. During my first trimester, I had morning sickness (feeling nauseas, not actually vomiting) with my twin pregnancy and boy was I happy not to be feeling so miserable. I had no trace of nausea or feeling yucky throughout the day and that gave me a boost of confidence.
So for most women, morning sickness usually goes away during their second trimester which is such good news and something to look forward to, right?
Keep in mind:
There are some pregnant mamas who experience morning sickness throughout their entire pregnancy.

2.You have more energy
Hello second trimester, hello energy! The first trimester sort of sucks the life out of you and then the second trimester gives it back. Get excited because during your second trimester you will feel a burst of energy coming out of nowhere. You will have the energy to wake up every morning to go to work, stay awake, cook, clean the house and even play with your kids. It’s great 🙂
During your second trimester your body has already accommodated it self to your growing belly and so you feel less tired and more you!

3.Sex drive increases
I bet your hubby or partner is super happy with this one *wink* *wink*. But, yes your sex drive will increase and you will find yourself enjoying sex again. You know, because during your first trimester, that word didn’t exist. My advice is just to have fun, don’t do anything crazy and bond with your partner. Always, seek advice from your doctor if you’re not sure of what sex position is okay to do while pregnant, you shouldn’t feel embarrass because it’s totally normal!
Keep in mind:
Remember to follow your instincts and what you feel is right. If you’re not ready to start having sex again, simply discuss with your partner because they will understand. Again, have fun and enjoy 🙂

4.Find out sex of your baby
Okay, this is by far the most anticipated date during both of my pregnancies, I’m that pregnant mama who absolutely can not wait to find out the sex of their baby. You can bet that during your second trimester you will find out the sex of your baby (if you want to and if baby wants to show) and it will be so exciting for both your partner 🙂
Keep in mind:
There are so many different ways to reveal the sex of your baby to your family that you shouldn’t have a problem coming up with a special way to announce it. Also, include your little ones if you have, that way they can be part of the experience.

5.You feel like yourself again
During your second trimester you will feel back to your old self again. You will have your energy back, you will start getting back your appetite and just being the fun loving person that we all know and love. The food network will not make you nauseas anymore and you will be able to basically do the things that you were used to doing before getting pregnant.

6.Glucose exam
This is what to expect during the second trimester, by far the most dreaded day by most if not all pregnant women or just me. During your second trimester you will have to take a glucose exam, this is done to check for gestational diabetes. The glucose exam usually takes about an hour and you will have to drink the glucose ( taste like fruity soda) in 5 minutes. Then you have to wait for an hour after drinking it because a blood sample will be taken. That’s it my pregnant friend, it’s not bad at all.
Keep in mind:
If the test comes back positive then you will have to take a more intensive glucose exam which will take 3 hours to determine if you really have gestational diabetes. Of course, always consult with your doctor if you have any questions or concerns about the glucose exam and about your results.
7.No food aversions, more eating
Since your morning sickness is starting to disappear, your appetite will grow and you will start eating more food. Your food aversions are most likely gone by now and food actually sounds and looks appetizing to you at this point. Remember to eat and enjoy your meals but do not over eat or think that you have to eat every food on this planet in one sitting. You will start noticing your growing bump and with that your appetite will also grow 🙂
