
Hey mama! Wondering how to know if you’re ready for baby number two? Excellent because if you’re reading this it’s a sign that you are thinking about the possibility of adding another member to your family. Yay!! You are in a great place right now, I’m assuming you just want that confirmation that would make you feel ready.
So let me start with a little story of how I knew I was ready to start trying for baby number two. Which are similar with the tips I’m going to share with you today. So, When my first born was 3 years old, i started to think about getting pregnant again. My husband and I knew we wanted more kids, the question was when.
So knowing that we didn’t want our children to have a big age gap difference, we felt totally ready to try again! God blessed us with twins!Yup! You might get this sweet surprise too mama 🙂

When should I try for baby number 2?
It is recommended to wait for about two years before trying for baby number 2. “The World Health Organization recommends a minimum of two-year intervals between pregnancies” (source). This is because women who get pregnant after a year of giving birth have a great chance of illness, preterm and other pregnancy health related issues.

1.You feel ready
No surprise here! How do you know if you’re ready to expand your family? You simply feel ready. You’re really excited just thinking about having a second child. You’re excited to be pregnant again and start the baby prepping again. Seriously if these things do not make your heart happy or excited, then you might not be ready. Remember you will go through the same things as you did with your first born. So being happy about experiencing everything again is a good sign that you’re totally ready for baby number two.

2.You’re relationship is thriving
Okay, so this one is important because if you are having relationship problems then you might not be ready to bring another baby into this dynamic. So, make sure that you both are in a good place mentally and both agree on having another baby. Your relationship may change after your first born and that’s okay. If you are both good, happy, have good communication and love each other. Great!! You are ready to get pregnant again!

3.Family is not complete
This one I definitely felt because I knew that I was not ready to call my little cute family complete. Ha! So if you are feeling the same way and can’t wait to bring in another cute baby into the family. You are ready mama! You know some women just know when their family is complete after having one child and some women know that their family is not complete after having one child.
4.Baby Fever
Baby fever is hitting you hard girl! You just get all giggly and “awww” every time you see ab baby. Maybe your best friend or sister just gave birth. And now you can’t stop thinking about getting pregnant so that you can have another cute, soft, baby smelling human in your arms. You are totally ready!
5.Oldest child is asking for a sister/brother
Is your first born asking for a sibling? Does she get tired of playing by herself and gets bored easily? Then mama, you are ready to give her a sibling! Yes!

6.Do not want a huge age gap between kids
One of the reasons I knew I was ready for another baby was the fact that my hubby and I didn’t want our kids to have a big age gap. So when my first born was three years old, I was like like baby making machine is now open!! lol. Geessh!! Aren’t first born so easy to deal with? I mean I think it’s a trick that the universe plays on all so we can want to have another child. We think that it will be easy again. ha! But yeah if your first born was easy peasy for the most part and you’re so excited to try again for another baby. Go for it! The more the merrier right? Hey! You might end up with twins like I did 🙂
8.You’re sleeping through the night
Ahhh sleep. Nothing says “I’m ready for another baby” than sleeping through the night.If you are not longer waking up every 2 to 3 hours to feed your baby, then you are ready for another one. You feel good, you are enjoying being a mama and you are not looking like a zombie anymore. Congrats!!
