Being a stressed mama is not fun because we reflect that energy to our children and partner. Some reasons why moms stress out are:

- You are stressing over house chores, having a good schedule or routine
- Stressing that your baby doesn’t sleep through the night or cries all day?

Being a mama is stressful, hard and demanding. But I know that you don’t always want to feel exhausted, burnt out and feeling like whatever you do is not good enough!

1.Selfcare
Always find time for “me” time. It’s important to take care of yourself mentally, emotionally and physically! You are important mama so do not forget that. Selfcare is about doing things that makes you feel good and re-energizes you in order to be the best version of yourself. It will help you stress less because you already took the time to do something for you.

2.Take a break
Ready to de-stress as a busy and tired mom? Then you need to be okay with taking a break. It helps you relax and regroup as well. It’s okay to not do everything in one one. Listen to your body and the signals it’s giving you that you are pushing yourself too far. This may look like having a headache, body aches and feeling exhausted. So remember that it’s okay to take a break because it’s going to help you stress less during the day.

3.Practice deep breathing
I love taking deep breaths every time I feel stressed, specially when my kids are fighting with each other or being annoying. Seriously, I take a couple of seconds to take deep breaths and count to three. It’s a game changer for me and my clients as well. Do not underestimate the power of breathing meditation.

4.Go on date nights
You know what’s going to help you stress less, feel happier and more alive? Going on a date night with your partner. It’s amazing how adult interaction can change your mood. It’s crazy how nurturing your relationship can help you in feeling amazing and happier. If your relationship is thriving, you will thrive as well. There is somehow a correlation between how you feel about your relationship and how you show up as a mom. If you’re mad at your partner, you will bring that energy to your kids and your day. The happier your relationship is, the happier you’ll be and the more calm mama you will become.
5. Go on a walk
Oh man! Walks are the best ever, trust me. When you are feeling stressed and want a quick way to turn your day around. Take a walk in the park, around your neighborhood and feel the breeze. Enjoy nature and it’s beauty. Take it all in. If you can’t go on a walk alone, take your kids and just be! Taking a walk can help you reflect on your day, notice any triggers that’s causing you stress and then take action.

6. Journal
Another great way to de-stress as a busy and tired mom is to journal.I love to journal and I hope you do too! Journaling is a way to release your feelings, thoughts and for you to braindump what’s going on in your life. So, when you are feeling stressed and burnout just simply write it down in your journal. The best things about journaling is that you can notice patterns when you go back to it and read it. Then you can simply take action to eliminate the triggers that’s causing you to feel stressed and unhappy.

7.Cut down on your daily to do list
Stop putting so much pressure on yourself to do everything on your to do list for the day. Actually I have a major tip, focus on your top 3 that you want to accomplish for the day. When you fill up your to do list with a lot of activity, you’re going to go crazy! It will put pressure to getting done and if you don’t then you are going to feel like a failure. So a great way to de-stress as a busy and tired mom is to cut down on your daily to do list.

8.Find your mama tribe
It feels so good to find your mama tribe and have someone that relates to you and know how you’re feeling! You will feel like you’re not alone and that’s a great feeling. When you can bond with someone, talk about your day and how hard being a mom is. It actually reduces your stress as a mom. Because you’re talking to other adults and laughing and just really being you. Smiling reduces stress, yay!
9. Watch a funny movie or show
Don’t you notice that when you’re feeling sad, angry or overwhelmed and you happen to see something funny on t.v or on your phone, you automatically smile and feel good inside. Even if it’s for a couple of minutes. If you want a quick way to de-stress as a tired mom then simply pop in a funny movie, watch funny YouTube videos and let that happiness role inside of you.
10. Practice gratitude
Practicing gratitude helps you stay grounded and look at the bright side of things. When you practicing gratitude you are telling yourself “hey, I know I had a bad day, but I am grateful for this..”. It turns everything around for you because you are focusing on the positive side of things, instead of putting so much emphasize on the wrong or bad things that happened in your day. Practice gratitude everyday and it’s going to help you feel less overwhelmed, less stressed and more happy!
