How do I care for myself postpartum?
The first way to take care of yourself is to slow down. Yes, slow down, take it easy, rest and trust your body that it’s doing its job naturally. Trust yourself to know exactly how to take care of yourself, your newborn baby and your family.
How long should you rest after giving birth?
The first 6 weeks after birth is known as the “recovery” period. Which means this is when you must rest, take it easy and follow doctor’s instructions depending on what type of birth you had. But to feel like yourself again? It may take months. I’m here to help you adjust to your new motherhood life, feel more like yourself again and not get lost in motherhood. Schedule a call with me! I would love to have a conversation with you.
The best after birth products for your postpartum care kit
1.Peri bottle
A peri bottle is extremely helpful if you give birth vaginally and had an episiotomy or vaginal tear. Since you’ll have stitches or be sore down there, a peri bottle makes cleaning easier. When you use the bathroom for the first couple of days, you won’t be able to wipe down there. So using a peri bottle will help you maintain your area clean and prevent any infections from happening.

2.Belly band
A belly band can help with healing and reducing the pain after having a C-section. But it can also help support your organs as they move back into place after birth. 4.Postpartum underwear
After birth you are going to experience heavy bleeding for a couple of weeks. Wearing a large postpartum underwear will help you to feel more comfortable. If you had a C-section I am going to recommend buying the high waist underwear where the line will not be touching your C-section incision.
5.Maxi pads
Included in your postpartum care plan should be large maxi pads. It’s the only way to go with the heavy bleeding you will experience from having a baby. You will notice that in the hospital they will provide you with very large pads. This is because you do not want to be changing pads frequently and you do not want “accidents” to happen either. If you know what I mean?
