You are taking care of yourself and telling yourself that you are worthy of feeling good and doing things that makes you happy. Selfcare is taking care of yourself mentally, physically, emotionally and socially.
What entails self love?
Self love is a little different than selfcare. Since it focuses on how you see yourself, think about yourself and treat yourself as a person.
Why is self love important for moms, benefits for self love?
Self love for moms is important because it helps you become a good mom. You are accepting yourself , imperfections and all. You won’t have low-self esteem, you are able to practice forgiveness and will enjoy your mom life even more. If you love yourself, you are accepting who you are. It’s freeing and you are showing your kiddos to love themselves too.
15 ways to practice self love as a tired and busy mom
1.Have a journal
I love writing on my journal and of course I will recommend you do it too. Write nice things about yourself, How can you be proud of the mother that you are. Having a journal to write down what you are grateful for as a mom or affirmations it will take you in a positive direction to your day. Journaling helps you feel better by writing a list of things you love about yourself and reinforcing positive self talk.
2.Don’t be hard on yourself
Listen mama, you will have bad mom days where you lose it and yell at your kids. It’s okay! Do not focus on the bad, instead focus on what can you do better next time. Learn from it and give yourself grace. What areas of your life can you improve on? Have more self-awareness on what triggers you and then take action in creating better tools in helping you to deal with it and eliminate those negative mom habits.

3.Set aside time for your hobbies
Want to keep your sanity as a mom? Then start setting time for your hobbies. Do the things that lights you up inside and makes you happy. For example, gardening, sewing, painting, cooking, etc.
4.Practice selfcare everyday
You are not a bad mother if you give yourself love and self-care. In fact mama, you will become the best version of you. By practicing selfcare everyday you are becoming a happy, calm and more present mom. Selfcare ditches the burnout and overwhelm feeling. Taking care of yourself is not selfish, is pure love. Go on a date night with your partner, hang out with your friends, exercise, read a book etc.

5. Learn to say “no”
Having a difficult time with saying “no”? It can be a people pleaser trait, but you can stop it today. How will it feel like to say “no” to people or things that you don’t want to do. What are you able to do now that you’re saying “no” more often? How do you see your life now?
6.Honor your boundaries

Mama breathe , just breathe. Know that if you;s having a bad day, feel guilty, sad or angry at motherhood. It’s just temporary, I like to say “I’m just figuring things out”. Which is true, you are a great mom and great moms also learn and have bad days. Is what you do with it that counts. Breathe, and let go. Trust and love. You have so many blessings all around you, You are doing just fine.
8.Read self help books
Working on yourself as a mom and person is crucial. You are never too young or too old to learn, feel inspired and motivated to be better, do better and feel better. You got this mama. I love saying affirmations because they work. Some people do not believe in them but I do! It’s all about taking action in becoming the mom that you want to be. Saying positive affirmations will help you take the action by inspiring you with reinforcing quotes or sayings.

10. Time for prayer and meditation
Set aside some time for your morning prayers and meditation. Setting time for the Lord is part of practicing self love as a mom. It just provides an overflow of gratitude, love, feeling good enough and peace.
11. Exercise
Taking care of yourself physically is part of showing yourself love. Moving your body, drinking enough water, eating healthy foods that will nourish your body is important. You want to be healthy and strong so that you can take care of your children and enjoy being active with them. We can’t have mama to afford any sick days. Well that’s not true but you know what I mean, ha!
12.Remove negative people from your life
Um hello! did you know you can easily remove negative people from your life who do not serve you in any way? Why not? Listen life’s too short to surround yourself with people who only bring negative emotions out of you. You don’t need it, you are more important than to let those people have control over you. Ditch it and move on!
13. Surround yourself with positive people
Another self love idea for tired and busy moms is to surround yourself with positive people. These are important people in your life like best friend, your partner, family. People who love you and know you. People who will motivate and inspire you to be a better person each day. They are not afraid to give you some tough love when you need it. Connect with them 🙂
14. Get enough rest
Getting enough rest as a mom can be hard right? But is a must to rest, take a break and sleep your 8 hours. You are showing your body love and relaxing your mind too. Resting allows you to have a better mindset, be in a better and happier mood and able to get less irritated because you’re not tired!

15. Pamper yourself
Nothing is better than taking care of yourself and feeling damn good about it. Pampering yourself can happen once a month and can be anything from doing your hair in the hair salon, to getting a massage or getting your nails done. It feels so good to treat yourself to what you deserve mama.
Practicing more self love as a busy and tired mom is huge! There’s a misconception out there that because you are a mom, you can’t practice self care or do the things that makes you happy. You are the best person to practice self love with. When you love yourself, you are allowing others to love you the way that you want to.
