Okay, I am Dominican and these delicious Dominican chicharron de pollo are seriously the best chicken nuggets you will ever eat. My kids love them and every time I order from a Dominican restaurant, these Dominican chicken bites always make it in our take out menu.
Chicharron de pollo are basically spanish style chicken nuggets. But more flavorful and delicious, in my opinion anyways. It’s even better when you make it at home because you can control the amount of seasoning that you want to add.
Dominican chicharron de pollo are very easy to make and I usually serve them with tostones which are double fried green plantains. It’s a stable in any Dominican household.
What is chicharron de pollo?
Chicharron de pollo are basically crispy bone in chicken nuggets.
What is chicharron de pollo made of?
Chicharron de pollo are made of chicken thigh pieces with special marinate.
What makes these chicharrones de pollo so good is that I add sofrito! Which is a staple in the Dominican and Puertorican household.
So quickly this is my sofrito recipe which is pretty simple but adds so much flavor to any dish!
Okay so in a blender add fresh and pre-washed cilantro with stems and all, green and red bell peppers, tomatoes, garlic (I add about 10 to 20 garlic cloves), red onions, celery. You add as much as you’d like with each ingredient. Blend it up and that’s it. Add it to your meats, rice dishes, beans etc.
I hope you enjoy these delicious chicharron de pollo recipe and can soon enjoy it with your family.
